Lincoln if you are still concidering removing the engine check out pennochs forum tech,,toddsters "removing a V-6 engine -by the numbers "" is on the 2nd page as I post this ..this post is chock full of nuts,,more info on removing a V 6 engine than you can ever use ..
you can remove the heads to get to the bolts they will come off  with the engine still in the bay..

As for the head... I know I could take it off, but I was hoping not to take the eng appart again. smile
