Update from Whodeanie Customs today:

Quote
We got the car on the lift and Aaron is updating the wiring. We also ran into a snag as well. When we tried to start it the fuel pump would not run. We dropped the tank to find that the pump was trash. The filter sock was missing and the foam around the pump had come apart and destroyed the pump. I got a new one already to go back in but we also found that the lines need to be replaced as well. The fill tube soft line looked like it had been cut with a razor. just enough to make it leak.

Aaron also worked on the tune for the car as well. I worked on the front bumper.
D.

I am so glad to hear progress. It's all good news to me.

It has been way too long since this thread had a constructive update so here you all go.
as some of you know David sent the car to us to re work some things like the motor install and a few more body tweaks.
the motor was in bad shape the bearings were bad and the wiring was shotty at best. the car would run sometimes and not others.
when he got on the gas the alt. would hit the shock tower and throw sparks out the vent and much more.
we re did the install with new mounts, low mount alt and rewired the whole thing.
as well as re tuned the computer.

now on to the body mods. David is kind of tall so we lowered the seat for more headroom.

the rear bumper was re worked to update the reflectors.

the front bumper was re done to shave the turn lights because his turn signals are now in the headlights.

and the lower part of the bumper that kind of looked like a snow plow was cut off so we could re work it a bit.
D.

Good riddance to the hood tabs and the snow plow. No need for a snow plow in Florida, unlike in the Midwest...  :thefinger:

Will it still have a removable lower bumper section?

Interesting. It looks like they flipped the air dam upside-down, and cut the center out (not necessarily in that order).

Yes and it will also have a defuser. We are going for a look very similar to the 2006 Venturi Heritage GT3.

Thanks pappy. Yellowstone posted this pic on PFF.

The bottom half of the bumper has been bought in 3", that should help miss curbs, ramps, driveway dips, etc. I received some samples of ABS today, 1/16" and 1/8". I could use 1/8" with some support but the blade (lip) from the splitter that sticks out all around the front bumper will have to be thick. I'm thinking from 1/2" to 3/4" so it looks good and the rest can be 1/8". Blacktree did mention anything thicker then 1/8" may be too heavy. Dean confirmed the bumper will detach in three parts.

Didn't want to post this yet but I'm basing my mod from the 2006 Venturi Heritage GT3.

The doors are next...

I will most likely move back in to our old building for a little while till I can find something better for the shop. this could not happen at a worse time for us with getting the cars done for the shows but it is what it is. I will be in contact with the people who have cars here this week. it has all been a lot of stress on me with the FDIC not telling us anything about what is going on with the building and then just kicking up out like this. I will be cutting the shop back to a smaller scale so if you are intrested in getting work done I will have to have a list because of the smaller space.
a sad day but life goes on.

So what does this mean as far as storage - Is your car going to be outside, does he have enough room to get all vehicles inside the old place?

I know this is out of his control
