Just got back from seeing District 9. Very good. They only spent $30 mil on it?

Saw IB last night. IMO it was just ok.

Though it would follow more the story of the original Italian film from the 1978.

I actually thought it was pretty good. The tension was extremely thick in a few of the scenes and bloody as heck, as one would have expected from a QT film. I wasn't expecting some of the deaths at the end, but they made me laugh out loud.

If you are into Sci-Fi, you will like this one. Wild scenes, especially the zero gravity ones.

I watched Iron Man 2 via a free coupon from Dish over the weekend.  IM 1 was better which I watched on Dragons big TV plus surround sound.

Went to see Fast Five on opening night and i gotta give it the thumbs up.  Clearly the best of the series so far IMO.  biggrin

Lots of action in this one as well as some rather impossible stunts, but hey what do you want, it's a movie hehehe.

Great fight between the Rock and Vin Diesel. Gotta love the absolute last scene !

P.S. stay after the credits for a another scene leading into the next one ( set after Tokoyo Drift- movies were out of sequence when released, Tokoyo drift is actually after this one).

Went to see X-Men: First Class. Best X-Men to date (beats first one). On my top list of superhero movies with Iron Man 1 and Batman Begins. Loved how they mixed in the 1940's - 1960's eras (Nazi and the Cold War eras). Kevin Bacon was great!

I finally got around to watching Avatar. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in the minority here, but I thought it was lame. It was like a geek fantasy where the Indians beat out the White Man. And the characters were so stereotypical, it almost hurt to watch.

The ONLY saving grace of this movie was the CGI, which was excellent. But CGI doesn't make a movie. You need good writing, directing, and acting. And those areas were pretty lacking.

    ONE THUMB UP

Ok just rented 3 movies from the mighty red box
    The Dilemma
    The Green Hornet
    Battle: Los Angeles

The Dilemma: Pretty good. The sub plot about an electronic v8 sound generator was lame, but still an ok movie

The Green Hornet: Great idea, bad acting awesome cars

Battle: Los Angeles: Loved it, Military guys will be able to point out the flaws - But over all the best alien invasion movie this year
