Had two now with no problems, if find a five speed might make that three. Got rid of two automatics, just does not fit my image.

Remember, what you usually see here (or any other technical forum) are people with problems, not people without.

The last I heard John was waiting for a new shift cable from Rodney. I haven't heard a word since. The project was taken over by Stan, since he was closer to drive and help.

,,John went on vacation,,His main problem was the slave this led to a damaged cable ,,because of trying to jam the shift..

..I have driven the car but untill working shift cable is installed we will not know if all gears can be shifted into ..so far I rebuilt the slave with honing and new MR2 seal,,The master was pitted,,I did rebuild it and it is working but I did not trust it,,we went a head and purchased a new master..$75.00 in parts so far..
,,John straightened the cable, but it failed the third shift ..I found a shift cable in good working order with a rodney cable rebuild kit,,if he does not have the new rodney cable we will try it..this is to make sure he does not need anew transmission.
He also needs a new battery,,I left him a battery charger to try and resurrect his Batt.John has a really clean paint job ,,His Factory paint should clean up like pedro or mitch,s  cars
John should be back this friday,,more than you wanted to know

Johns car does not need transmission..he needs to buy or find a select cable,,I provided a shift cable but the faulty slave damaged both cables.. when you force shift a fiero it is possible to Kink the cables ,,it drives pretty sweet now ..John has to save for parts.. I had trouble bleeding, used archies method it worked .pushing the slave push rod into the slave as per archie instruction is very effective . The car has mostly minor problems now..I am putting together a fiero care package, some small vacuum tubing, paint, ect., the car idles to way to high.. I forgot this is why it does not smoothly shift to reverse ! DUh the shift is better than many Fiero,s now
the hi idle is probably related to the EGR solenoid .
..John can drive the car ,but the select cable is likely  to kink more and jam up

Well gentlemen the plot thickens and may very well end in tragedy. ( Stan you may want to cover your eyes and not read this considering the time you spent helping me.) WastePro who is our trash company decided to run into my Fiero with there giant trash eating truck. Door is pushed in and will not open, front quarter panel has slight nick but I am worried it may be totalled because alot of the damage occured near the pillar on the drivers side. My claim is in the process and more of this  be sorted out early next week. I can only hope I get a nice chunk of change and the car isn't totalled. If that is the case I will be on the hunt for an 86gt door. Unbelievable. Call me when you have a chance Stan. If it is totalled we need to get your cable back to you and whatever other parts we can salvage. Should be alot of good stuff there

I located an inexpensive  select cable!! oh well your car look sharp, great paint,,come to the meeting thursday evening for 2 hours ,,All will be well
there are club members who may be interested in your  wreck,,get the best deal then take high dollar & you keep car,,you paid $2000 for the car,, but with the upgrades we worked our butts off doing.  and better running your car is worth $3000.oo a classic Fiero the sunroof 86GT is very desirable.Quality Fiero,s are getting scarce. As a fiero expert(eeeh, maybe)and long time Fiero appraiser & deep excavation nose picker,,  I will A test to this,,I personally drove this car & worked on it..

EDIT= John check out GENERAL DISCUSSION,,local member has to sell his Fiero. by Dirty Harry.

Just read this for first time. I have a door you can have & probably have a select cable we'll have to talk about. Even if pillar is damaged, can't a body shop pull it out for you?   Harry

The estimates I have received are ranging from $1277 to $1530. Looks like the car is not totaled. I would love to talk to you more dirtyharry. Definately want to purchase your select cable. Might not need an entire door - They are claiming it can be fixed. Tried to put pictures up on here but had no luck. Drop me a line at
greatinspirational@gmail.com  . Stan I tried calling but phones been busy. Want to work out a day I can bring your stuff back to you. I no longer have reverse either.
